When being a child, I lived in a housing complex (called Danchi).
On my way home from playing with my friends, when it was dark, I saw the lights coming from every room and the life of each family was definitely there, even though I usually did not feel anything during the day.
Perhaps it is because this presence, which changes its expression from night to day, has left a strange impression on my mind, as if no two houses are the same.
I often look at apartment complexes unconsciously.
Sometimes when I see a magnificent natural landscape, such as Mt.Fuji.
This is the same kind of feeling I had when being a child, and I may have sensed something in the common urban scenery and felt a sense of awe.
Mountains are also formed by the interweaving of various plants and animals.
Housing complexes are also formed by a variety of households and things, and in this sense, it may be easy to see them as the same thing.
In the same way that people who go to Mt. Fuji take photographs to capture and preserve the magnificent natural scenery, I have tried to present my own cutouts of the magnificent urban landscape as a work of art.

私は小さい頃、団地に暮らしていました。
友達と遊んだ帰り、辺りが暗くなったときに見たそれは、普段日中は何にも感じないのに
各部屋から灯りがともり、確実にそれぞれの家庭の暮らしがあって同じものが一つとしてない、
といった具合に夜と昼の表情を変えるこの存在が妙に心に残っているせいなのか
私はよく集合住宅を無意識のうちに見ていることが多いです。
たまに雄大な自然の風景、例えば富士山とか見たときに畏怖の念を抱くことがあります。
私が幼い頃感じていたのはそれと同じ、都会のよく見かける風景に何かを感じ取って
畏怖の念を抱いていたのかもしれません。
山も様々な動植物が織り混ざって形成しているわけですが
集合住宅も様々な家庭やモノなどで形成しており
そういった意味では同一視しやすいのかもしれません。
転じて、富士山に行った人はその雄大な自然の風景を切り取るため、残すために写真を撮るのと
同様に私もその雄大な都会の風景を切り取ったのを作品として発表してみました。
